Let’s see, Sadies was pretty fun today. I got to VC at 10am to help set up everything for the dance. It was extremely hot all day today so all of ASB was sweating like crazy and worked pretty much nonstop until 3:30pm so that we could get all the decorations up and actually look good. After I left school, I went over to Vincent’s house to shower and then Shannon came over and we headed over to Anthony’s. Everyone was there so we just hung out there for a bit, took some pictures, played air hockey, and then went to Pasta Pomodoro. The food was good! But I wasn’t that hungry, so I didn’t eat all my food. SORRY NICK!
After dinner, we went to Sadies and it was pretty fun! Although the music wasn’t as great as it could have been, it was a big improvement from what it used to be. It was just crazy that today will be the last Sadies of my life. It’s kind of depressing yet exhilarating at the same time. It’s a year of lasts, and I’m damn sure that I’m gonna make the most of it. My group left me like thirty minutes before the dance ended because they wanted to go back to Anthony’s house, so I went and hung out with my best bud Alec! We danced for the remainder of the time and then once the dance was over at 11ish, ASB stayed and cleaned up everything so that the school was once again back to normal. At around 12, we were finally allowed to leave and I went back to Anthony’s party. Too bad my dad’s home, or else I would have spent the night there. But I’d rather hang out with my dad (:
Anyways, long day at school today. I’m exhausted, so good night!
It’s been a pretty good week so far! My dad came home on Sunday and I think he’s staying until this coming Monday. Mm, yesterday we went Sadies shopping, TMNT what whattt? I want a turtle backpack. Yes Nick, I’m jealous of your shell. Speaking of Sadies, I asked Nick today! He already knew I was asking him to Sadies, so I told him that I was going to ask him on Thursday. But little did he know, I was planning to ask him on Tuesday all along! Oh so tricky.
So basically what happened, was that I blacked out all the windows and then I got like 6 blacklights from the ASB room and told the people who were wearing shirts to hold a light beneath their shirts so that you could see the letters, SADIES. I should have gotten white shirts and wrote in black ink, but too late :( So when lunch ended, Ms. Earp got Nick from outside the room and took him inside and everyone said “SADIES?” and I walked through wearing a shirt that said “With ME?”. It was kind of messy because I had to redo my shirt and I got paint all over me, but it went relatively well. So that was good! Sadies will be a lot of fun. I’m definitely looking forward to it (:
After that, I cleaned up the room and then headed over to the buses because tennis had a match today against Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep. I won my match 6-1, 6-2 but our team lost 5-2 I think. We definitely should have won, but next time I really hope we will. On the way back, the bus driver let us stop at In-n-Out so we got food and headed on our way back to school. Lauren Speers and I had a good talk on the way back, and then once we got back to school, she helped me learn the material on the take home quiz! Our team is finally getting closer (:
Sorry for so many long posts, but here goes anyway! (:
Man, what an amazing day.
So basically my day started out pretty hectic. Loretta Le told me that I had to be at school at 8 for ASB so I was freaking out because I was still at home at 7:52. I then got there at like 8:20 and realized that I didn’t have to be there till 8:30. From then on, ASB just carried stuff for the retreat over to the buses and then we all got on our buses. Our senior class takes up 6 buses haha, that’s a pretty crazy size for a VCHS class. On the bus I sat next to Bri Ahmed and Nick Chiu! The ride was horrible though, there was so much traffic on 17. We were in the same spot for like 10-15 minutes, and then we would move like a couple feet, and then we would stop again for a couple minutes.
But, once we got to Mt. Hermon, it was all fun from then on. We got some breakfast, and then headed into the auditorium for our big session and Miss Earp spoke for us. I love her, I’m so glad that I got her to speak for retreat. After her message, we broke up into our game groups. GO TEAM PURPLEEEEEE! We didn’t exactly dominate in everything, but it’s okay because we had fun! We killed in tug-o-war though, so that’s good enough (: After tug-o-war, volleyball, clothespin game, dodgeball, the picture game, and the dance off, we all got in line and ate lunch. After lunch it was just free time for an hour or so and we just hung around and chilled.
Worship was next, and then the girls and the guys split up for their individual sessions. It was really nice just hanging out with all the girls in our grade and having Miss Earp speak to us about things that many girls struggle with. After our sessions, everyone came back to the auditorium and it was time for open mic. It was amazing the stories that I heard during this time. I’ll admit, I never thought that our class would be capable of going down as deep as we did. It was amazing how supportive of each other we were, and the amount of respect and attention that we all gave to the speakers.
Their stories moved me so much, and made me really appreciate our class. I hope that because of the emotions that we felt at Senior Retreat, we will forget all the drama that everyone has with each other, apologize and mend our relationships because this is the last year that we have with each other, and ultimately no one wants their memories of high school to just be how much drama went down or how many fights were started. So I just encourage everyone to make the most of their last year at whatever school they attend. I still can’t believe Senior Retreat will be the last time that all of the VCHS Class of 2011 will be together until graduation.
Best of luck everyone, thank you guys so much for an amazing time at Senior Retreat. It’s our year, now let’s make the most of it!
is so uncertain, but I am definitely looking forward to it. Anyways, this is an account of what I did this past week or so. Oh, by the way, I’m sorry if this blog is ridiculously boring. You don’t have to read it (:
My flight took off from SFO at 10:50pm for Logan Airport in Boston, MA.
I landed at 7:30, and Dan, the Wellesley College assistant coach, picked me up and took me to the campus. Once I got there, I went to Shafer Hall, where I dropped my luggage off with my host Jackie (captain) in her dorm. Then, Dan took me to Tower Dining Hall where I met up with Nat, the other captain, and my friend Melissa. There we got breakfast and then Melissa and I headed over to econ with another teammate, Raji. It’s pretty cool how the students there were also learning from Mankiw and were in fact on the same chapter and were discussing guns and butter. Anyways, after econ Melissa and I separated. She went to music theory with Elena I believe? And I went with Mika to psychology. It was actually really interesting, except there was this one girl that had to say something after every point the teacher made. It was pretty annoying but whatever.
After that, the entire tennis team then met up at Tower Dining Hall again and had a team lunch. After lunch, Elena, Melissa, Raji, and another teammate, Diana and I headed to Truly Yogurt in The Ville and got ice cream. I didn’t get any, but from what I heard it was really good. After getting ice cream, we walked back to our dorms, changed, and got ready for practice. Technically Melissa and I weren’t allowed to play on the courts while the team was practicing, but we just played points for an hour and a half or so on court 8 and it was pretty nice. Once practice was finished, we headed to dinner as a team at the Campus Center. The food was pretty dang good too. I ate a ton ahah.
Once we were finished with dinner, we all went back to our dorms to shower and get ready. Every year, Wellesley as a school hosts three large get-together/parties. Apparently, this weekend was the first one for the school year, and my teammates wanted to go, so I went with them. After we showered, my host, Jackie, took me to meet her fencing friends for a little bit. We just hung out in her friend Szofia’s room for a while and then headed over to Remix (what the event is called). There we met up with the rest of the tennis team and hung out and danced throughout the night. We then went back to our room at around 2ish because the girls had a tournament the next day and they wanted to be well rested. Once Jackie and I got back to her room, we talked for a while and then we both passed out.
We woke up at 10:30 and met up with the rest of the team at Tower once again at 10:45. We all ate breakfast and then headed over to the tennis courts and got ready for their match. While the girls stretched and warmed up, Melissa and I got bored and went to the campus store to check out the gear and buy some stuff. After we bought what we wanted, we headed back to the courts and watched a whole day of matches. They won 8-1 against Springfield. Good job girls, GO BLUE. By this time, I was starving and was extremely glad that we were going to dinner. We went to the Lulu Chow Wang and grabbed dinner there.
After dinner, we went back to our dorm and Jackie passed out for like an hour and a half so I just sat there on my laptop messing around. Once she woke up, she showered and I just went to Elena’s room and we went to some hypnotist show. It was kinda weird, but interesting at the same time. Then, we headed over to Elena’s friend, Emma’s room. We hung out there for a bit with her roommate, and then we headed back to her dorm. There we hung out and talked some more and waited for Jackie to get back from hanging out with her girlfriend. When she got back, it was like 1am, so we just started watching a movie. We finished watching the movie back in Jackie’s room because Elena’s roommate wanted to sleep. We ended up staying up till around 4am talking and watching the movie. Once the movie was over, Elena said her goodbyes, and headed back to her dorm. Jackie and I ended up talking for a little bit and then we too fell asleep.
We woke up at around 11:30 and Brian, the head coach, was going to pick me up at 11:45 so I quickly packed and went out and met him. There I said bye to Jackie and we headed back to Logan. My flight was at 4:30, but I could not stay on campus for more than 48 hours because that is against the NCAA rules of official tennis visits. Therefore, Brian and I had our meeting at the airport. There we talked for about an hour and a half and it was around 2:30 when he left. I then just walked to my gate, and messed around until I boarded my flight.
Dang, what a weekend. I definitely like Wellesley, and yeah yeah I know it’s an all girls school and how “weird” that is. I thought like that too before I went there for a visit. It’s actually not that weird, and I actually really like it. So I’m pretty sure I’m going to apply early decision there and according to Brian I will most likely be accepted so hopefully what he said is accurate. I’m excited for what’s to come (:
Sometime this year, I’m gonna gather a group of friends and go on a road trip down south. It will be fun!
Today Jason, Diana, Vincent, Don and I washed our cars at Nick’s house. It took so freaking long and we all got soaked, but it was fun! Then we got some delicious pho and went back to Vincent’s house and I actually watched all of Hot Tub Time Machine. It was not that great. Then I went to Youth Group and came home.
I’m just glad that I still have two more days for me to have some fun! I love three day weekends. I’m excited for my bracelet that Nicole brought back for me (: Everybody gonna be matching!
Man, I’m excited for Sadies. It should be fun! I still gotta go out and get some outfits, but it will be loads of fun. BOSTON on thursday, and SENIOR RETREAT next monday! What an exciting upcoming week.
I was ridiculously tired in school, but was super excited that it was finally the weekend. After school, we gathered the group and headed to Tap Ex as usual. Then, we went to Great Mall to help Jojo get a dress/heels, and I ended up buying a couple pairs of Levis. Sorry Nicole (: Then Jason and Diana met up with us! And we got Chipotle and headed over to the Thai residence. We were gonna go swimming and then we got kinda lazy.
Then me and Wang left and got Hot Tub Time Machine and were gonna watch it at his house, but when we got there, his entire block had a blackout! It sucked. We couldn’t even get in his house cause his doors were electronically controlled, so we headed over to Sam’s and watched the movie.
I was asleep for a good portion of it, but from what I saw, it didn’t look like it was THAT great of a movie. All in all, very relaxing Friday, and exactly what I wanted it to be. Tomorrow should be fun too. Car wash at Nick’s, and maybe a trip up to the city with my VC buds. It’s gonna be a fun 3 day weekend!
So, I was thinking how great my life really is. I have all the friends that I need, college apps are steadily getting finished, I’m visiting the colleges of my dreams, and I’m living my life to the fullest. As Sam would say, I’m living the prime-time years. Life is freaking amazing.
What did I do today. Hmm I left AP Econ like ten minutes early so I could get ready for the tennis match. I met up with Mandy, and drove her down to 7-11 to get some drinks for my secret sister and then went to the match. I won my match 6-0, 6-0! Yayuh, after the match I went to Vincent’s house, took a quick shower and then dropped him and his friends off at Starbucks. Then I went to school for Nicole, picked her ass up and brought her to Miss K’s place and had dinner! It was surprisingly not as awkward as I thought it would be. It was pretty nice, and she’s an amazing cook.
I’m so glad that tomorrow’s Friday, I’m definitely looking forward to my 3 day weekend. It’s gonna be pretty amazing! (:
Let’s see, thank you Nicole Guerrero for starting a tumblr for me. I never thought that I would be doing this but hey, it’s my senior year and I’m gonna try everything I possibly can!
I should probably be doing AP Economics right now, but I need a break. Man oh man, it’s been a fun last week and hopefully all of senior year is steadily like this! So, cheers to a new year of fun, countless crazy Tuesdays, and a ton of new experiences. This is only the beginning my friends.
